Representative Jimmy Skipper

The School of Business Administration at Georgia Southwestern State University was pleased to have the Honorable Jimmy Skipper, Georgia House of Representative District 137, as the speaker for the first School of Business Administration Executive Lecture Series (SBELS) for the 2000-2001 academic year. Representative Jimmy Skipper was elected by the House Democratic Caucus in 1996 to serve as Majority Whip. He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the House Rules Committee, as a member of the House Industry Committee where he is the Chairman of the Public Services and Utilities Subcommittee, and is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee where he serves as Chairman of the Sales Tax Subcommittee. 

The Honorable Jimmy Skipper has been a State Representative since January 14, 1991. A local attorney with Ellis, Easterlin, Gatewood, Skipper, and Farr, he graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law and received the B.S. in Political Science degree from Georgia Southwestern State University. He is a current member and past president of the Kiwanis Club. He is also a member of the Americus-Sumter Chamber of Commerce.
